Shot on October 20, 2021 - 9:30am. NSW Northern Rivers district - spring. Same plant as in the older photos. Recently transfered to a pot due to not doing well in the orginal location. Recovering quite nicely. PS: Why do I always find the first sneaky aphids when I take a photo?

And here it is again, 5 weeks later. First bloom is out and is quite nice. More on the way. Haven't really got my nose around the scent yet, as this bloom is a bit past it and has been baked by the midday sun. However, it is still scented and it seems pleasant. Will pay more attention to the next blooms.

The first bloom is visible in this shot (in the upper background, just left of centre) and its pink tones are distinctly darker than the newer blooms at the extreme left and right of the picture. This isn't an effect of the age of the bloom. It was that colour from the start. I've noticed a few of my other roses did slightly odd things with their first couple of blooms too. It may be related to the onset of flowering.

Here you go. HMF's first photo of Botanica. On multiflora, from Thomas for Roses. Just planted it. A bit bare at the moment, but it looks like a good strong plant so I'm sure great things will happen.

More blooms. Yay! The size matches the HMF description page (ie: approx. 50mm/2"). They're well-scented, but a bit unusual. The scent this afternoon has a fruity/rose base, but with additional notes that are almost alcoholic. It reminded me of a pear cider, or something along those lines. It's a very pleasant scent anyway. The newer blooms are lighter in tone than the first one. The plant is bushing out very nicely. The foliage has picked up a few minor traces of black spot, but at this stage appears to have very good resistance.
