Origin:
Bred by John Cook & Son (United States, 1913).
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Light pink, lighter edges.  Mild fragrance.  Large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  Glossy, light green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

3 November 1903 Panama declared its independence from Colombia.


On 7 January 1914, the first complete Panama Canal passage by a self-propelled, ocean-going vessel took place by The Alexandre La Valley, an old French crane boat. The "official" opening of the Canal took place on 15 August 1914.
