Origin:
Bred by Jacques Foulard (France, before 1837).
Introduced in France by Victor Verdier et fils in 1837 as 'Rosa muscosa asepala'.
Class:
Moss.  
Bloom:
Pink, purple shading, white undertones.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, globular, reflexed bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Mossed buds.  
Habit:
Compact, upright.  Large, dark green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Sangerhausen describes the color of the bloom as whitish-pink.

The plant grown in L'Hay-les-Roses as 'Sans Sépales' is actually the hybrid china 'Brennus'.
