J. R. Ramsbottom. Single Hybrid Tea Roses And Their Decorative Value.
....the variety Queen Alexandra - introduced recently by the Rev. J. H. Pemberton - which is excellent for pillars, and is a perpetual flowerer. The blooms are perfectly single, reminding one of a glorified Dog-Rose; the colour is pale citron-yellow flushed with pink when young, and fading with age to white. The same raiser has also given us 'Danae', soft yellow; 'Moonlight', lemon white; 'Callisto' pale yellow; and 'Clytemnestra', salmon yellow; all semi-double flowers borne in large clusters and suitable for small pillars.

Single Rose Queen Alexandra (H.T.). — I enclose a photograph of the single Rose Queen Alexandra. I obtained this last autumn from the Rev. J. H. Pemberton, and it has done extraordinarily well. It has flowered twice, throwing up long shoots with a number of flowers on each. The colour is very pretty — yellow, edged with pink. I think it is interesting as a perpetual single Rose. The photograph was taken about three weeks ago. — John M. Knopf, Linford Hall, Wolverton Bucks.

Queen Alexandra (H.T. Rev. J. H. Pemberton). An uprlght grower (attaining about four or five feet) and a persistent bloomer, sending up strong growths from the base, each carrying five to ten blooms. The flowers are large and single with smooth petals and prominent golden stamens. The colour of the petals is pale yellow flushed and edged with salmon. It will prove valuable alike for table and indoor decoration.
