Alice Amos Modern, cluster-flowered floribunda, pink blend, repeat flowering. This very tough and vigorous Cluster-flowered Rose has good strong stems supporting mid-green, medium-sized foliage; unfortunately the foliage also has a poor health record. The long, pointed buds develop into mid-sized cerise flowers with a white eye. They have little fragrance. Repeat-flowering, it makes a good plant for bedding. Propagation is by budding. Zones 4-9. Spek, The Netherlands, 1922. 'Tip-Top' x seedling.

Leonard Hollis. Hybrid Polyanthas as Bedding Roses.
Alice Amos produces her white-eyed, rosy carmine single blooms in large clusters over a long period. Growth is vigorous. It has been aptly described as a dwarf-growing 'American Pillar', and ought to be popular with those who care for this type of bloom. It is a good, general-purpose variety, unspectacular but reliable.

Some of the older Polyanthas still possess amazing beauty and attractiveness and the first I would like to mention is Alice Amos. Although one of the oldest, it is still one of the best. It is tall-growing, making an ideal low hedge, and carries large trusses of delicate, single, pink blooms with a white eye. A delightful rose.
