Mallerin se devait encore de dédier une de ses plus; belles roses à la célèbre bienfaitrice de l'Horticulture mondiale, créatrice du prix « Harding » dont Mme P.-S. du Pont fut la lauréate. Donc, la meilleure de ses roses jaunes parmi celles aux essais aux Etats-Unis, fut choisie là-bas pour porter le nom d'Alice Harding. Grande admiratrice de toutes les fleurs, écrivain américain réputée, femme de l'un des plus grands avocats d'Amérique spécialisé surtout dans les questions internationales, elle fut encore le mécène regretté de la Société d'Horticulture de France à qui elle remettait, presque chaque année, un prix de 100 dollars pour récompenser la plus belle obtention, parmi les espèces florales. Sa rose fut cultivée par les grandes maisons américaines en quantités importantes, comme l'imposait d'ailleurs la valeur de la variété
Book (1939) Page(s) 131. Mr John Poulsen, NZ. Canterbury Roses. Alice Harding.- Good growth and foliage, flowering freely. The first flowers were rather pale, but later the colour was a rich yellow with nice full blooms. A fine garden Rose.

The vigorous upright plants produce splendid honey scented flowers. 5/- each. Good shape, growth and foliage. Very promising. Exhibition and garden.

Dupont and Claudius Pernet, has splendid form, three and a half to four inch flowers of 35 petals, and a rich yellow colour which lasts. It is my choice for the best yellow Rose of to-day.
