Interesting that this one and Color Magic are siblings--Warriner/J&P sure hit the lottery there as Color Magic was AARS and Fascination was held until 1982 and released as a Rose of the Year. I grow them both now and Fascination is the bigger, rougher, tougher and blowsier of them. It is quite thorny, the blooms are extremely full petaled and open to look more like peonies than roses but are a lovely peachy-pink color that blushes red/salmon. My plant throws basal breaks like crazy, is very tall, terribly thorny, and is more black spot resistant than Color Magic in my garden. Clearly not an exhibition rose and that assured it would pass quickly out of commerce in the 1980's. Now that informal bloom forms are appreciated, this one could be of interest to some growers.

From the patent, "This new variety has the same parent varieties and is a sibling from the same seed lot as the variety Color Magic, U.S. Plant Pat. No. 3,998."
