Sport of 'Eugene Fürst': “Among the numerous varieties of roses presented was to be noticed an interesting variation from the rose E. Fürst, with petals which were wavy and edged with white, brought by Mr. François Alègre, of Royat, which he gave as a fixed sport of that variety. Mr. Trochon exhibited a variety coming from the nurseries of Mr. Veysset, at Royat, having quite an air of kinship with the preceding, and which is known under the name of Royat-Mondain. These two roses of the same origin, are they simply sports, more or less fixed, from the variety E. Fürst? This is a question which remains to be clarified; nevertheless, in the form and variegation of the flower, they constitute a notable new sort.” [Bulletin Mensuel, Société d’Horticulture, de Viticulture, et d’Études Agronomiques du Puy-de-Dome, vol. 21, 1904, p. 102]
