Book (1941) p47. R. Marion Hatton. An American Review of the New Roses Opal, which is Lise Palais in Europe, appeared to be just a mess. Plants were poor and most of the early buds were malformed, opening cactus blooms of amber salmon, quickly fading to very pale apricot. September brought a few passable flowers.
p79. John Poulsen, NZ. South Island Roses Lise Palais, although making fine growth, failed to produce a single good bloom early, and in the autumn gave barely a half-dozen decent blooms from over 30 plants. I am afraid it will soon be among the missing.
p109. Mr. S. J. Bisdee. Tasmanian Notes. Lise Palaise.- Quite hopeless here; won't open in any weather.
p114. Mr.C. A. Brown, Ivanhoe, Vic. Lise Palais.- With me so far a healthy plant of medium growth. The buds are carried on long, thin, hard stems and the blooms are of good colour and shape with plenty of petals. To me it appears very promising.
Book (1940) p121. Mr. S. J. Bisdee. Tasmanian Rose Notes Lise Palais, Fair growth, colour pale washy pink, and it found difficulty in opening in spring. In February it opened better, and was yellowish pink in colour, with the yellow predominating.
p128. Mr B. Rowlands, Vic. New Varieties Proving Satisfactory. Lise Palais.-Nicely shaped pink and orange flowers, which, unfortunately, gum at times, while many stems are weak.
Book (1939) p20. Harry H. Hazlewood. The New Roses of 1939. Pride of place after two seasons' performance goes to Lise Palais, HT. (Gaujard, 1937) The blooms are made up of 50 to 60 rich coppery salmon petals of a very warm, pleasing colour. The growth is extra vigorous, with long stems and good foliage. The petals are of good substance, and through terrific heat and weeks of showery weather have shown no signs of balling. During the summer months, the dominant colour definitely leaned to pink shades, but recent autumn blooms have swayed towards orange, making the correct placing of this variety very difficult indeed.
p109. Mr Allen A. Brundrett. A Review of the New Roses in Victoria Lise Palais (Gaujard).-A rather attractive colour, salmon yellow, which improved towards the autumn; 40 to 50 petals.
Website/Catalog (1939) Page(s) 38. New Roses 1939. Lise Palais (HT. J. Gaujard 1937) Large, full blooms of beautiful colour, copper salmon shaded darker inside the petals. Very vigorous and free flowering. Strong and healthy foliage. 5/- each. Attractive blooms produced on long stems. Recommended.

Website/Catalog (1938) Page(s) 27. Bush Roses Lise Palais (Hybrid Tea)... The pink and gold colouring is delicate, yet warm and clear; the growth is graceful, although strong and branching. The large full flowers last exceptionally well on the plant and in water. A novelty of great charm and merit. Introduced 1937.
