Bred by Charles Mallerin (France, before 1929).
Introduced in France by Henri Guillot in 1931 as 'Ville de Grenoble'.
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1931 as 'Grenoble'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1933 as 'Grenoble'.

Hybrid Tea.  

Scarlet - crimson.  Moderate, clove, spice fragrance.  30 to 40 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long buds.  

Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
