"The Queen of Flowers" By Edwin Lonsdale
Some of the old favorites of a quarter of a century ago have been revived again, especially to be be used for society "Buds,” or debutantes' bouquets, as Bon Silene, Papa Gontier, Safrano and Isabella Sprunt. [...]
Souvenir d'un Ami found favor for a time as a pink bud, being larger than Bon Silene and a more delicate pink in color. Both of these produced white sports; the former was called the Queen, and the latter White Bon Silene.

[From "Die amerikanischen Rosen" by L. v. Nagy, pp. 261-265]
16. White Bon Silene (Thearose; Morat 1885).

Translation:
16. White Bon Silene (Tea rose; Morat 1885). A white sport of Bon Silene. Unfortunately, the colour is not completely pure white, which is why it is not valued as a forcing rose, but it has a magnificent smell, which makes it very valuable as a garden plant, as it towers above almost all other white roses.
Magazine  (16 Apr 1891)  Page(s) 678.

[From "Our American Roses", by D. T. Connor, Collingdale, Pa., pp. 678-679:]
White Bon Silene, (Tea; Morat, 1885). A white sport from Bon Silene. The color is not a good white; of no value as a forcing rose, but having the delightful fragrance of the parent it can claim a place in the garden, as few white roses are sweet.
Book  (1889)  Page(s) 131.

Tea. White bon Silene (Françis Morrat 1884). Large, semi-double, pure white. Comprises all good characteristics of her parent (Goubault), also a cut flower of first rank. Satisfies all expectations; magnificent mother-of-pearl-like bud, extra, Forcing rose.
