George Dickson was clearly a very successful rose of its time as shown by nearly a page devoted to it in Brundrett's 1913 catalogue.

7 years later and I still gawk at some of these photos. As well as a few hybrid perpetuals with similarly super wide petals. It is fairly amazing, considering almost all of them descend from Old Blush or similar, which has notoriously narrow petals that it passes on quite frequently.

Im looking at the first generation hybrids of this rose, and a lot of them look really interesting. Why did this one and its hybrids fall out of favor? They look cool!
