He was appointed Director of the Department of Parks and gardens of the Council of Madrid, discharged with the coming of the 2nd Republic and restored at the end of the Civil War, from which time he directed the restoration of the green zones of Madrid. In the Retiro Park are the Cecilio Rodríguez gardens, which seem to have been designed by him.

Grande fleur ovoïde pointue de couleur rouge foncé velouté, avec reflets et extrémités des pétales de couleur rouge vif intense. Très parfumé. Rosier vigoureux, florifère et d'abondant feuillage avec fort pédoncule.
