Gold Rush (1941). LC. Orange buds; large, high-centered, double (24 petals), yellow-gold flowers, which do not lose color in fading. They are produced on the huge new shoots of the currrent season, a great advantage. Exceedingly handsome, large, shining leaves. Not reliably hardy, and this one does blackspot badly in some gardens. Perhaps it does not belong under Excellent Climbers, but its undoubted good looks seem to edge it in, and it is FRAGRANT.
