Yearly membership is only $2.00 per month and adds a host of additional features, and numerous planned enhancements, to take full advantage of the power and convenience of HelpMeFind. Click here to start your premium membership..

We of course also welcome donations of any amount. Click here to make a donation. Donations of $24 or more receive a thank-you gift of a 1-year premium membership.

As far as we have come, we feel HelpMeFind is still in its infancy. With your support we have so much more to accomplish.

This rose didn't thrive in my garden and it gave up 4 years after planting. It just produced one flower in those years.

Mondiale is a very big and healthy bush, by the end of a season it can be over 2m tall. Flowers have a beautiful color and bud, but very flat and unusual open form. Petals are very firm so it last a long while in a vase. Very floriferous and long-stemmed.

So does Wayside. Not that I would recommend buying anything from them. Russian roulette seems safer than placing an order with Wayside.

I was very reluctant to purchase this rose through Wayside and, indeed, I ordered 6 roses and only a couple were delivered. Fortunately, one of the roses was 'Mondiale' which I purchased based on an article in the NY Times about disease resistant roses.

'Mondiale' has lived up to the hype about disease resistance and is truly free of any black spot or mildew. In fact it hasn't lost a single leaf since Spring (it's now August). Further, it is very vigorous and upright making a very attractive bush. The flowers are, perhaps, not of the finest quality, but the general healthiness of the plant more than makes up for it.

I'm glad it was Mondiale that was delivered. It sounds like the kind of cast-iron rose bush that so many of us want. What a great thing to not be disappointed by all the hype! Given your experience, it seems odd that it never won the ADR, but perhaps Kordes never bothered to put it to trial. I always look for roses with an ADR -- they usually are the most disease resistant of the European roses.

I may have to get Mondiale and replace one of my many roses struggling with rust this year and see if it is as resistant to that scourge as black spot.
