I have to advise that 'Annie's Song' is not a climber, in the real sense or the accepted sense. Perhaps enquiries should be had of the person who advised it as a climber to 10 ft. Perhaps it sported?

There is a plant growing in Beijing Botanic Gardens, and I once propagated several onto 3ft. standard stocks, something totally impractical to do with a climber or tall shrub.

Hello Laurie,
There has been much written on this beautiful rose and we have now included three of the references for it. The "climbing" information in Botanica's Roses first edition was an error and corrected in their second edition.

As of 1992 there was a slight doubt about the parentage of 'Annie's Song'. One day we will get to the later references and perhaps they will enlighten us further.

Ian (Spriggs) would certainly know the truth, but I can assure that the seed parent is 'Granada'.
