'Hawaii', a coral orange hybrid tea, flaunted a light pink bloom an a short stem, from which bushes were budded; some had 'Hawaii's' exotic colouring while others were of the new light pink. Bushes from further buddings of the pink sometimes have blooms with an odd petal or two of the richer "Hawaii" colour.

It is curious how we get two similar colours, new ones at that, in plants received from widely different sources in the one year. It happened last year with Hawaii, a beautiful decorative rose, and the peerless 'Super Star'. A little unfortunate really for one tends to outshine the other, but in fact both have their uses.
