[Northern Italy - observations covering Autumn 2009 to Summer 2010]

After it took its time to establish its roots, in spring I saw some blooming from this tiny rose, only to be disappointed a little later, as it took a bout of blackspot. I sprayed it a couple times, and removed all the sick leaves, taking care to spray the dirt around the plant also, to prevent spores from re-infecting the plant, but to no avail, as the rose had a second bout just after it renewed all the missing leaves.

I have to stress that the rose is placed in a place with good air ventilation and full sun, (exposure South) so I expect fungal deseases to have very little chance to develop. This was the first (and so far the only) rose to get blackspot in this location of mine, amongst a group of eight different plants, so I'm a little disappointed, and I'm moving it to a different place next season.
