Bred by Frantisek Zeman (Czechoslovakia (former), before 1924).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Hillier Nurseries Ltd. in 1924 as 'Hillieri'.
Class:
Species Cross.  
Bloom:
Red to deep pink, brown shading.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Arching, bushy, dense, upright, well-branched.  Small, dark green foliage.  

Height: 10' (305cm).  Width: 6' (185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for landscape or specimen.  Hardy.  vigorous.  produces decorative hips.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Hilleri may be a result of the same cross as R. pruhoniciana, but the former is described as a taller, arching shrub with dark green foliage and very dark red blooms, while the latter is described as having bushy dense, shorter growth with light green leaves and carmine flowers.
