I had High Hopes for several years. It continuously suffered from blackspot even when sprayed. The spring flush was nice but those few weeks didn't make up for the ugly yellow and spotty leaves, the long bare canes and the mediocre fragrance. I ended up taking High Hopes out and replacing it with something I like much better.

I do not believe the third and fourth rose shown above is "High Hopes"

True - It doesn't appear to be High Hopes. Lynette (The Old Rosarian) grows 750+ roses, she may have mis-loaded these photos.

This is my second year with 2 High Hopes growing up both sides of an arbor. Last year, they were the last roses blooming--they even managed a few blooms AFTER the first frost and this year they were the first to have buds. The blooms are a nice light pink but not a faded looking pink and the fragrance is not really strong but very nice. I'd recommend High Hopes.

We've had High Hopes in for 3 years; a mediocre performer at best, in our zone 5 (Ohio) climate. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anyone in our climate.
