Class: Hybrid Moyesii, Shrub, Species / Wild.   
Bloom: Carmine-red, white center.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.   
Habit: Arching, armed with thorns / prickles, upright.  Small, matte, dark green foliage.  9 to 11 leaflets.  
 Height: 8' to 13' (245 to 395cm).  Width: 6' to 10' (185 to 305cm).
 
Growing: USDA zone 3b and warmer.  Very hardy.  vigorous.  produces decorative hips.   
Patents: Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind). 
Notes: Most references describe parentage as R. moyesii x unknown. This may simply be a seedling showing the range of variation of the species. |
