Holstein (hybrid polyantha, Kordes 1938) - Perhaps the best among large-bloomed polyantha roses with almost single, bright red blooms. Effectful foliage, short habit, very floriferous. An excellent rose. There is a yellow variety hereof, "Gelbe Holstein", which does not receive the same interest.

Holstein (Hybrid polyantha) is a good deep crimson single-flowered rose, with its flowers borne in large clusters from bushes of moderate height and vigorous growth with deep bronze-green foliage. Kordes 1927....Medium growth. Slightly fragrant....June-September. Hardy.
