I would like to plant Mawson this year but am seriously short of places with optimum sunlight for a rose. Is anyone able to comment on the shade tolerance of this rose?

I can't comment on shade tolerance of either rose, but I think that for a low-growing white, the old White Ensign takes a lot of beating.

Thank you, Margaret. I just looked up White Ensign. Do you mean the HT or the floribunda?

The HT from 1925. I don't know if the modern floribunda reached Australia.
