'Waskasoo' is perhaps the most dwarf Rugosa ever developed. It is approximately 75 cm. tall and its width is about 60 cm. It should be a popular Rugosa, but it's never been propagated and sold by a commercial nursery. Great breeding potential to develop dwarf Rugosas.

"The 'Waskasoo' has double flowers, darker than Hansa, with a little less violet and much better form. Its centre petals are as long as the outer ones and usually there are about 50, so a fully opened flower has a global form. It is from Percy Wrights seedling of Betty Bland pollinated by Hansa. Plant resembles Hansa but is more compact and leaves are similar but slightly smaller and thicker."

"A rose of the cross Little Betty x Hansa has produced the best formed flowers of any seedling here yet. They are like hybrid teas in form, with about 50 petals a good red color, with one bloom per stem. I have named it Waskasoo, the Indian name for the city of RedDeer."
