Bred by Auguste Nonin & Fils (France, before 1917).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1925 as 'Île de France'.
Class:
Rambler.  
Bloom:
Scarlet, white center.  Mild fragrance.  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), cluster-flowered, open bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing, upright.  

Height: 15' to 20' (455 to 610cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Very hardy.  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
"Ile de France" is the name of the region around Paris.
