Bred by André Dupont (Du Pont) (France, before 1817).

Hybrid Spinosissima.

White, purple undertones.  Average diameter 2.5'.  Medium, single (4-8 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Small foliage.  
Growing:
Hardy.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
According to Thory, 'Belle Laure' = 'Aux Cent Écu' by Dupont died off in the harsh winter of 1819 except for 2 plants in the gardens of Thory and Meinier de La Flèche.
