Bred by Victor Etienne Gautreau (France, 1872).
Introduced in Australia by Law, Somner Pty. Ltd. in 1886 as 'Souvenir de Spa'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Dark red or crimson, scarlet highlights.  Moderate fragrance.  Large, very double, globular, scalloped bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Large buds.  
Habit:
Few or no prickles/thorns, upright.  

Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.
