I'm having a hard time believing this rose is only cold hardy to zone 7b. It is, after all, distributed by Hortico whose customers are predominantly living in zones 4 and 5. And I thought it's breeder, Ben Williams, bred roses in zone 6b.

7b and higher is the default zonal information for hybrid tea roses as it does fit most. We readily change this information if we have a REFERENCE or MEMBER COMMENTS that gives more information about how the roses handle colder zones.

Thanks Lyn, I made the comment because in such cases I usually see the brief notation "(default)" but I did not in this case.

P.S. I think Newburgh, NY would be zone 6; but I cannot be certain that the photos of this rose growing there represent a plant that overwintered there.

I agree that even tho' a photo may be from a colder zone, we don't know what winter protection may have been provided for the rose, so that is not enough to assume the rose will perform well in a colder zone.

However, if site members share their experiences, we can add a NOTE pointing other site users to look at MEMBER COMMENTS for some zone information.

Smiles,
Lyn

I love HT "Dolly Parton," her huge blooms, her fragrance. My only complaint is that she doesn't bloom enough. I was hoping when I saw "Dolly's Sister," that perhaps this one problem has been addressed? Can anyone tell me anything about Dolly's Sister? The pictures are gorgeous, but...how big are the blooms? How frequent? Is this rose heat tolerant?

The blossoms are huge and well formed but repeat isn't very good.
