[Back-Translation of "A Persian Story" by Chris Warner, translated into Dutch by Els de Krijger]
.... in 1982 the price had dropped and I bought 'Tigris' (H. persica x 'Trier'). I was lucky enough to choose R. Baby Love ('SCRivluv') as a pollen parent. This rose by Len Scrivens is a descendant of 'Sweet Magic' and has excellent disease resistance. In 1986 I had about 20 seedlings from this crossing, nicknamed Tag, Tog, Tug, Tingle, Tang, Tiggle, etc. The healthiest of these was 'Tiggle', a ground cover with a beautiful bright blotch, but the bloom was already over halfway through the summer. I set up a growing project with six other amateur breeders, with the agreement that everything that came from Tiggle would first be offered to me again....Meanwhile [after 1988] he group was toiling with 'Tiggle', which led to nothing at all. 'Tiggle'  behaved like a sterile mule and firmly refused to yield anything of any value. A few years later, Ronnie Rawlings, also an ARBA (Amateur Rose Breeders Association) member, asked me if he could join the project. I didn't have any 'Tiggle' plants left, so I gave him 'Tingle'.

....By now the Persica project was firing the imagination of mainstream breeders. Chris Warner crossed 'Tigris' with 'Baby Love' (raised from 'Sweet Magic') and was rewarded with as clutch of promising seedlings. One, with bronze flowers and a dark red eye, which flowered up to September, he codenamed CHEWtiggle. I think it was probably the first Persica to win an International award, at St. Albans in the 2001 Trials.
