Origin:

Bred by Pierre-Hubert Portemer père (France, 1846).
Introduced in Australia by F. C. Davis in 1862 as 'Reine des Fleurs'.

Class:

Damask Perpetual, Hybrid Perpetual.

Bloom:

Lilac-pink, lighter outer petals, silver(y) reverse. Moderate fragrance. Average diameter 3.5". Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, globular, reflexed, scalloped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles, upright. Large foliage. 5 leaflets.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
