Bred by Français-André Robert (France, 1852). Bred by Moreau-Robert (France, 1884).
Introduced in Australia by C. F. Newman and Sons - Adelaide in 1894 as 'Belzunce'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Violet-red.   (Rouge amaranthe).  Average diameter 2.25".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Light green foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

Notes:
Belzunce, Bishop of Marseille, refused to leave his flock during the plague of 1720-21.
Possibly an HP with the same name was introduced by Morea-Robert in 1884.
