The Roses of 1881...I cannot assign a great value to Gustave Thierry (hybrid perpetual, Oger) to depict it as an exemplary rose; its cherry-red pales to lilac-pink; it is not "very large" as stated by the breeder, but just large; the form of the bloom is globular, quite finely formed and lossely filled; no fragrance.
