(Lammerts 1957) The colour may be slightly darker and more vivid than that of 'Parmelia', but the petals are fewer, the form is not as good, and the flower does not last nearly as well. The lanky plant is not as good, either. In the 'Opera' and 'Audie Murphy' colour range.

(Lammerts 1957) The opening bud is a deep rich orange red, with the under side of the petals glowing copper streaked with red. The stately flowers usually come on long straight stems. Vigorous growth, tall grower. Mildly fragrant.
p65. Lester E. Satterlee. Rose Growing in Kansas City. Living (Lammerts): Lovely pointed buds of an unusual red, always on long stems; it needs no disbudding. Good foliage and fine big bush that almost always has some bloom on it. We like this rose even though it doesn't have too many petals.
