This is a beautiful pink with a peach blush in my garden. It is vigorous growing. However, it is a mildew magnet. I am willing to fight the mildew because it is so pretty.

I bought this lovely rose as a budded maiden from Steve Singer. It wasn't the most vigorous growing rose, but it did okay. It is kind of a low grower for me in my garden. However, the blooms I got from this rose were gorgeous. They were a carbon copy of the first picture in the "Photos" section here on HMF. They had a cream base and a heavy painted orange pink edging on each petal that eventually expanded as the flower matured to cover the entire petal. The substance of each petal was super thick and so they flowers last a very long time when cut for the house. The form was outstanding. Very high centered and round as they should be. The only thing missing was the fragrance of which there is absolutely none to be sniffed.
My rose grew very well for two years but was killed by "The Big Easter Freeze" of 2007 that struck after all the roses had already started breaking dormancy. I lost this rose and a total of about 50 altogether. Especially many of my minis and the HT's and FL varieties that tended to break dormancy early anyway. The four days of 10 degree and lower weather did them all in.
I am definitely going to replace this Sandra rose as I really enjoyed it when cut for the house. I would highly recommend this rose as a florist rose that also makes a good garden rose and probably exhibition rose as well for those rosarians into that venue.

Available from - Hortico does not offer this HT; it's only 'Sandra' is the 1990
Meilland shrub (aka 'Comtesse Jeanne de Flandre').
