Orange and yellow. Strong, apricot or peach, fruity, pepper, tea fragrance. 45 to 90 petals. Average diameter 3.5". Medium to large, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, cupped-to-flat, old-fashioned bloom form. Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.
Short, compact, dense, well-branched. Medium, glossy, dark green foliage.
Height of 2' to 3' (60 to 90 cm). Width of 2' to 3' (60 to 90 cm).
USDA zone 5b through 11. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, garden, landscape or specimen. Can be grown as a shrub. heat tolerant. plant in partial shade for best color. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. This rose has been evaluated for several years now and has proven to be a beautiful small shrub. It has often attracted a great deal of attention from visitors when in bloom in my greenhouse, not only for its luminous color but its compact growth and strong fruity fragrance. I find this to be a highly rewarding small shrub, capable of a nearly unending display of Old Fashioned blooms. In the Spring and the Fall, bloom color is often more of a deep Apricot hue, while in warmer weather it is sometimes more of a burnished Gold color. I am very pleased with this rose. It is my first Hybrid Bracteata in commerce, following a breeding line using Ralph Moore's superb 'Out of Yesteryear'. Mr. Moore prompted me to start using his rose several years ago and I urge other breeders to take it up as well, as it passes on some truly remarkable qualities to many of its offspring.
