Can anyone tell me how this rose does in colder climates? I am in zone 4/borderline 5, and HMF lists it as hardy to 2b but Rogue Valley Roses has it as zone 6. I would love to grow both October Moon and Dakota Redwing, and don't mind doing a bit of winter protection if they are likely to survive. Thanks!

I received 2 own roots from The Uncommon Rose in May and both have been blooming since planting. There has been some issue with BS in my garden, but it has resolved with organic spraying. Love the bloom form and color! So far so good!

Received October Moon in April 07 as a small (2") cutting from The Uncommon Rose. Potted immediately in a gallon pot with potting soil. By the 4th week the plant had grown to about 12" around with 6 large buds. I planted in the ground by mid May and to date (mid June) the plant has grown to almost 18" around and has not stopped blooming. Today I count 6 flowers (3-4") in perfect bloom with 3 basal breaks and many buds getting ready to open. The form is old fashioned and the color is fantastic for the garden.....blends well with everything. I spray so cannot comment on disease resistance but the plant overall is a winner.
