Does anyone have noticed a susceptibility to rust in this variety? I've been having some fog mornings and it started getting covered with it :/

Thanks, hopefully this is just a one off, I've got wet springs per norm, so it would be unfortunate.

Has anyone else found that the strength of fragrance of Margaret Merril declines markedly over the years ?
If so, what can be done to regain its original strength, or some of it ?

I have recently moved from Dunedin, New Zealand to Vancouver Canada. Margaret Merril was my favourite rose in NZ, so I searched for it in Vancouver when I arrived. I eventually managed to find one supplier in the province and the rose is growing and blooming well on my balcony. However, it has almost no perfume at all. A local nursery man has told me it is because we have had such a long, hot, summer. He said a number of roses lose their perfume in the heat and he thinks it will return. But knowing it does so well in the Australian heat makes me wonder if he is correct . Vancouver is more humid than most of the southern half of Australia. Maybe it doesn't like heat and humidity?
Has anyone else experience this lack of perfume? Are there any other ideas as to what might have caused it?

I live in Brentwood California. We spend half of our summers 100 degrees or more. Margaret Merril has a very strong fragrance in my garden. Our humidity is very low. Zone 9B
