After maturing somewhat now my Elfe tends to bloom earlier, together with the other roses, and started to repeat in the autumn. Also, nowadays she produces the large clusters of blossoms, usually at the top of the canes - which are rather upright, reaching 3 meters high so far and rather stiff, so training them horizontally requires some work. Foliage mostly clean, but she is inclined to be a bit naked at the bottom.

I notice a couple of my big climbers have naked bottoms. Peter Frankenfeld, and Blossomtime. I have star Jasmine growing near there and hope to bring it over and make roses respectable again. :)

Is there a typo in TANefle? Should it be TANelfe?
I will call Tantau in January 2017 to ask, for they are closed right now.

A curly one Jay-Jay…. As far as I can see, the error came about with Modern Roses 10 where the code for the light pink HT was incorrectly changed. I have adjusted the 1985 and 2001 roses to show as follows and hope they are right now.
1951 Elfe …………… Flori. White
1985 Elfe TANefle. HT. light pink. (HMF had shown as TANelfe)
1988 Elfe TANcrief. Flori. White.
2001 Elfe TANelfe. Climber. White. (HMF had shown as TANefle)

Yup, the fragrance drifts in the air if the conditions are right.

For me this rose is very late blooming, last of all my roses, also it practically did not repeat so far (if not to count 1 bloom in mid December), after 3 years in same spot. Otherwise quite healthy and tough rose, although canes are a bit stiff-ish.
