'BAIrift' rose Description

ARS:
White, near white or white blend Shrub.
Bloom:
White, light apricot center. Mild fragrance. 50 petals. Average diameter 2". Medium, very full (41+ petals), in small clusters, cupped, rounded bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Habit:
Medium, bushy, upright. Matte, medium green foliage. 3 to 7 leaflets.
Height: 3' to 4' (90 to 120cm). Width: 32" to 39" (80 to 100cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b. Can be used for beds and borders, cut flower, garden or hedge. Hardy. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant, very blackspot resistant.. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

The new variety of shrub rose, `BAIrift`, designated as seedling No 99A796 was selected among seedlings derived from a cross made in Yamhill, Oreg. in 1999 between the female parent, `MACrexy` (U.S. Plant No. 6,713) and the male parent, `MEIpotal` (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 8,841) as the male parent. `BAIrift` was selected as unique and budded onto understock in August 2000 and reselected by the inventors for its distinct characteristics in 2005.
