New Roses 1929.
Frau Luise Lindecke (HT) (Hermann Lindecke, 1928). A fine pure light red sport from Columbia. It has all the good points of its parent and is a real acquisition. 5/- each.
Only 20 petals and appears to be a seedling rather than a sport. Not up to the parent standard yet.

Herr Kordes Reports for Germany.
'Briarcliff' also, is good; in fact, I had from some 500 plants no malformed blooms. However, these light pink sports of 'Columbia' will be handicapped against the new European dark pink and dark red sports of 'Columbia'. If they can get it, the flower-buying public will prefer a little more color than 'Columbia' has, and here the new German'Frau Luise Lindecke' will be on top. It is a dark red, perhaps not far from 'Templar' and of very even coloring at all times. A little lighter than it, probably is the new Dutch 'Europa', which is in all other respects a true 'Columbia'. Our own sport is the lightest of the three; it is a little darker red than 'Mrs. Charles Russell' and so far it brings no crippled flowers indoors. People that know roses are agreed that it has a much longer pointed bud than even 'Briarcliff'. Time will show which is the winner.
