"Bishop's Lodge Riverina Sunset" pink Tea Rose has a watercolour quality in its blooms and suggests the airy, pink light in the plains at the end of so many warm, clear days. Very recurrent.

p46. Brenda Weir [deceased. written March, 1992] B.L. Riverina sunset (Rose 6) – a pink Tea Rose which is very recurrent. The weak stems cause the blooms to nod. Nodding blooms were judged to be inferior as strong-necked Hybrid Teas were developed. The latter stood up well in vases and were considered “much better roses”. Currently there is a renewed appreciation of bushes with lax stems and nodding blooms which create a gently and more charming element in the garden compared with stiffly growing modern Hybrid Teas. The fine texture of the petals of rose 6 causes the margins to darken creating a shade we refer to as “watercolour pink”.
