Journal of Horticulture, Cottage Gardener, and Country Gentleman (April 17, 1868) Mademoiselle Marguerite Dombrain, very full, like her mamma La Reine, and having, I fear, her defect. D. Deal.
Journal of Horticulture and Practical Gardening (April 12, 1868) Rivers: "I have gathered to-day three blooms of Marguerite Dombrain, the most magnificent Roses I ever saw—it is La Reine spiritualized." D. Deal.
Elwanger (1892) also lists 'La Reine' as seed parent of this rose.
