[Authors quote from the article "Einige Rosen als schöne Parksträucher", by Rudolf Geschwind, published in the "Oesterreichische Garten-Zeitung", Vol. 2, 1907, pp. 52-55:]
"...I can recommend several among the roses, which distinguish themselves by their floriferousness and hardiness, to the landscape gardener: Uppermost is the Rosa lutea bicolor, the two-coloured Viennese or Turkish Rose...A worthy companion is Rosa Harrisonii....As the third, very large, hardy and very floriferous park shrub, I can recommend with good conscience, the rose 'Parkfeuer', which was bred by me and introduced into commerce by P. Lambert.
It forms a 4 m tall and equally wide, fully hardy shrub, which is eminently uitable for planting on lawn in full sun. The blooms, which appear in June and July, are indeed only single and medium-sized, but bright red and become, depending on soil and location, more matt or more glowing.
Parkfeur, named also Red Canina, is a cross between R. lutea bicolor and R. canina. The specific character of Rosa lutea has totally disappeared in this variety. Rudolf Geschwind Korpona."

...the hybrid canina 'Parkfeuer' forms also [as Geschwinds Nordlandrose] large solitaire plants. In the rosarium of Sangerhausen is a plant of this variety tied to a pillar of 7 m height. Surely a decent performance for a rose.
