Origin:
Bred by Thomas Smith (United Kingdom, 1904).
Introduced in United Kingdom by Daisy Hill Nursery in 1908 as 'Paulii rosea'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Species Cross.  
Bloom:
Light pink.  Strong, clove fragrance.  Average diameter 3.5".  Large, single (4-8 petals), cluster-flowered bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  

Height: 35" to 6'7" (90 to 200cm).  Width: 6'1" to 13'1" (185 to 400cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for ground cover.
