This year we are being blessed with glorious weather, beautiful blue and green spring days with hardly any frosts. 'Pompom de Paris, CL' is just starting to flower, it is such a dark strong pink usually the flowers are a much softer pale colour, 'Old Blush' is unusually dark as well..

For one of the original minis, I am kind of surprised it was never used in hybridizing.

Ashdown Roses says their Climbing Pompom de Paris reblooms, but in the description here it is called once blooming. Can anyone comment on this descrepency?

I have the Ashdown clone, and mine does repeat. Usually by this time of year, I'm seeing a nice second flush, more sparse than in the spring, but noticeable. Some years it's not as good, and it does take age before it repeats (at least with mine). I'm in z7a-b, NC. I do see a flower here and there through the summer, but nothing like a flush then. There are also little orange hips in good years :)
