Pounder Star MACnic. 'Karma'. Large-flowered. The flowers are medium red and open wide from long, pointed buds. There are only twenty petals, but they hold long enough for this to be a good exhibition rose. The bush is compact, the foliage is dark green and the fragrance is spicy. it was introduced in 1982 by Sam McGredy. 'John Waterer' x 'Kalahari'. Repeat flowering. Fragrant.

Lynette and Paul Rogan, Roses in the South.
Karma is a rose that you don't see around any more. In our opinion it is outstanding - a good exhibition, decorative or fully open bloom. We must confess that we bought it because the catalogue said it was a good decorative and by the time we realised what a good rose it was, it had been withdrawn because of lack of demand. However, it grows easily from cuttings and we now have several bushes.

'Karma' (HT, McGredy, 1978). Another exclusive 1978 great rose first introduction into Australia. This brilliant newcomer has in its parentage 'John Waterer', a previous introduction from McGredy and one of the finest new red roses ever introduced. This tremendous well formed, new red rose has the most perfect bud formation which slowly develops into a large double bloom, perfection at all stages and a tremendous garden and exhibition rose. Each bloom borne singularly on a strong stem is set midst lustrous foliage in a bush vigorous and free flowering. Here is a top line champion new red. Our colour shot illustrates its great beauty.
