Augusta H.T. (F.lli Giacomasso) – Novità 1940 Bellissimo fiore! Miscuglio di rosa satinato e arancio, a riflessi sericei, più intenso al centro, a base gialla. Petali carnosi e fittissimi. Arbusto coperto di fiori da maggio ai geli. Un’eccellente novità molto apprezzata per mazzi. Profumata (Vedi fotografia a colori a pag. 9) Translation: Beautiful flower! Mix of satin and orange rose, with silky reflections, more intense in the center, with a yellow base. Fleshy and dense petals. Shrub covered with flowers from May to Frosts. An excellent novelty much appreciated for decks. Scented (see color photography on page 9)

The colour is reported in the 1948 reference (that reports also a synonym of Rome Glory: Roma Imperiale!!) The breeding date of Augusta is, thus, earlier than that in HMF (1955).

In fact, the Sgaravatti catalogue of April 1943 describes it as a "beautiful blend of satin pink and orange with a yellow base. An extraordinarily floriferous shrub. (Bel miscuglio di colori rosa satinato e arancio, base gialla. Arbusto di straordinaria fioritura).
