Upper two blooms, Reine des Violettes. Lower two, a bristly rose sold incorrectly by some Australian nurserymen as Reine des Violettes. Possibly its parent, Pope Pius IX (study names: "Beachport", "Bristly Queen"). Photo late summer, South Australia, zone 9b. There are two more photos under Gardens: Ruston's.

‘Reine des Violettes’ 584 007. On some sort of rootstock at Northcliffe, W.A. November 13, 2018. Provenance Treloar-1; Mitre 10 in 2018-2 RIGHT - vertical. Pedicel seems more glandular. With ‘Reine des Violettes’ on own roots at Northcliffe, W.A. Came in 2003 from Chris Hale who was told it was it was Climbing Reine des Violettes. The only direction it has ever climbed for me was backwards. This is the sparse remains of the last spring bloom. LEFT - horizontal. Pedicel seems less glandular.

Reine des Violettes’ 584 003. On some sort of rootstock at Northcliffe, W.A. October 30, 2018. Provenance Treloar-1; Mitre 10 in 2018-2; Treloar replied to my email that they could not say which rootstock this rose was on. This rose is planted about 3 metres from another ‘Reine des Violettes’ on its own roots and at this early stage the foliage appears to be longer than the own-rooted plant.

With ‘Reine des Violettes’ puchased in 1997 (came as Zephirine Drouhin) on Dr. Huey rootstock.
