Why doesn't a US nursery import Remembrance Rose (floribunda, Harkness 1992)? I saw it in the gardens at Durham Cathedral and thought it much lovlier than the Knock Out roses and I understand it is also disease resistant. I would love to locate one but understand I can't order from a UK nursery. If anyone knows of a US nursery carrying this plant, please let me know.
Heirloom sells some Harkness roses. The problem is that Heirloom renames them, and it requires a lot of time to research their real names. Also, is it really true that you cannot import from the UK? Whether exporters want to jump through all the hoops US Customs imposes is a different question. It is now impractical to import, but I don't believe it is prohibited.
I bought my original from Pickering. It died cause of crown gall (everything in that spot always got crown gall -- it wasnt this roses fault). I was sad, of course, but I got a new one at Heirloom in 2009. They still sell it now in 2010 under the proper name. This is a very dwarf floribunda like Regensberg.
