Origin:
Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, 1932).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1934 as 'Barcelona'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Shaded black. Blooms on long upright straight stems.  Moderate, old rose, spice fragrance.  75 to 105 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Very large, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Upright, well-branched.  Dark green foliage.  

Height: up to 28" (up to 70cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 9b.  Vigorous.  heat tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
